We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021 David R. Sage Award. This honor is awarded annually to TCU team members who demonstrate the leadership and values of former board chairman David R. Sage, who served in TCU leadership for nearly four decades.

The Sage Award recipients, nominated by team members and selected by the executive team are TJ Aronson, Senior Mail Clerk; Dhushyantha Mullakandage Don, Retail Management Trainee; Catrina Tate, Vice President of Retail; and Ryan Woodruff, Vice President of Mortgage Lending.

Leadership in Core Values – TJ Aronson

As senior mail clerk, TJ demonstrates TCU’s core values each and every day as he manages the mail room and ensures timely distribution of mail and packages throughout the organization. TJ goes above and beyond to help team members find solutions to problems and he’s always willing to lend a hand. He treats others with kindness and respect and embodies the “wow” service that TCU is all about.

Leadership in Core Values – Dhushyantha Mullakandage Don

Dhushyantha is a retail management trainee at our Warsaw North Service Center. He demonstrates leadership each day with his positive can-do attitude and desire to provide outstanding service to our members. He assists his fellow team members too and is always eager to help when someone is struggling. Leadership in Community Service – Catrina Tate

Catrina gives back to the Indianapolis community through her volunteer commitments with several organizations including Habitat for Humanity and as a board member with the Central Indiana Girl Scouts. Named one of Indy’s leading ladies this year, Catrina has demonstrated her ability to lead and grow partnerships for TCU in the community. Her passion for making a difference has motivated her team to strive to be better and do more.

Leadership in the Workplace – Ryan Woodruff

In his nearly two years at TCU, Ryan has transformed TCU’s mortgage department by developing his team, expanding mortgage products and growing relationships with builders and other key partners. As production volumes exceeded all expectations this past year, Ryan worked closely with his team and coached them through any challenges or difficulties they faced. Recently named President of the Mortgage Banker’s Association, Ryan is committed to growing TCU’s presence as a mortgage leader across the communities we serve.

Congratulations to this year’s award recipients!
