TCU Supports Event to Raise Money for Various Charities

TCU recently donated $2,500 to 4 charities at a local event in Beech Grove. 100 percent of all funds raised through the Cars R’ Us car show were donated to various community organizations. $2,500 from TCU was shared with Handicapable Hands, Noble of Indiana, the Indianapolis Metro Police Department and the Beech Grove Police Department to support their Holiday outreach efforts for families and children. Sarah Fisher Racing played a big part in organizing the event, and TCU was proudly displayed on Indycar driver Ed Carpenter’s vehicle.

TCU Walks for the American Heart Association

TCU Partnered this year with the American Heart Association to raise awareness in our communities about the dangers of heart disease through the BetterU program. BetterU is a free 12 week online nutrition and fitness program designed to “makeover your heart.” A number of TCU team members have taken advantage of the program in order to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle. TCU represented the BetterU program at 4 Start! Heart walks in Elkhart, St. Joe County, Porter County and Indianapolis. TCU had 61 registered walkers in Indianapolis alone.

In a joint effort between TCU, 92.3 WTTS, The Marion County Public Library, a new program called Reading for Hope has been created. 92.3 WTTS is supporting the program through its multiple concert series throughout the year. Listeners are encouraged to donate books to receive discounted concert tickets, and those donating will be entered to win a variety of concert season-ticket packages. All of the proceeds and materials will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Indiana in an effort to raise literacy rates.

TCU Supports the Make a Wish Foundation

Every year, TCU supports the Make a Wish Foundation Radio-a-thon on 99.5 WZPL in Indianapolis. In 2011, the event, held over a 36 hour period, helped to raise more than $400,000 in donations to help grant the wishes of terminally-ill children.
